Detailed

Description:
Density: 1.026g/cm3
Melting point: 41-42℃
Boiling point: 351.4℃
Flash point: 99.6℃
Refractive index: 1.536
Appearance: White crystalline powder
Solubility: soluble in benzene, isopropyl benzene, ether, petroleum ether, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water
Application:
Dicumyl peroxide is used as a curing agent and cross-linking agent for natural and synthetic rubbers, as well as for polyethylene resins. It is not used for curing butyl rubber.
It is also used as an initiator for polymerization processes, particularly in the production of EVA foam materials, where it helps form fine and uniform foam while improving heat and weather resistance.
Additionally, it is used as a cross-linking agent in unsaturated polyester resins and as a curing agent in phenolic-nitrile adhesives, enhancing heat and aging resistance
FAQs:
Title
Dicumyl peroxide is a white crystalline substance with a density of 1.082 g/mL at 20°C.
It has a melting point of 41-42°C and a flash point of 133°F.
It is soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, isopropyl benzene, ether, and petroleum ether, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water.
It is chemically active and can decompose, especially under heat or light exposure.
